2012′s big story arc, Avengers Vs. X-Men, is well into it’s final arc and it promises to really stir things up in the Marvel universe but don’t expect it to stop there with the introduction of Marvel NOW earlier this month. A relaunch due in October that will see a number of new character designs as well as cancelling and starting again on a number of series.

While Marvel have been quick to point out that this is a redirection and not a repeat of DC’s New-52, some of the stories set to come out of it will be total game-changers. Unfortunately, to make way for the new titles, the following 9 titles will be put on ice for the time being.

  • Captain America
  • Fantastic Four
  • FF
  • Incredible Hulk
  • Invincible Iron Man
  • New Mutants
  • The Mighty Thor
  • Uncanny X-Men
  • X-Men Legacy
It’s most likely that these titles will be relaunched with brand new issue #1′s at a later date but you’ll have to make do without for the time being as a new range of titles are drip fed to us starting with Uncanny Avengers, All-New X-Men, Avengers  and New Avengers one a month starting this October.
As well as relaunches and brand new titles, Marvel have also announced changes to current series, something that The Amazing Spider-Man writer, Dan Slott has been particularly vocal about the future of the series.
“What I can clearly say is that in the 20-odd years I’ve been working in this industry, I have never done something as big to a character as what we’re doing to Spider-Man in #700.”
Amazing Spider-Man #700 will debut in December and Slott has made it well known that he will keeping his head down until the dust settles.
