Battle of the Atom is this years big X-Men crossover event which looks set to conclude the current saga in Bendis’ All-New X-Men, which saw the original x-men team brought to the present day.
To this point, BotA has seen the X-Men of the future travel to the present day to make the original x-men go back to their own timeline to prevent some great evil. An idea that has been greatly opposed by the original x-team because, well… No one likes a hypocrite.
The crossover is drawing towards it’s big finale and in typical fashion, the solicits for the issues to follow are dusted with secrecy and the Marvel site admins have even refused to post the cover for All New X-Men #18 to avoid revealing any information prior to the event ending.
Unfortunately the editors of All New X-Men didn’t think that far ahead and posted the cover at the back of issue 17 (an issue that is part of the event!)
So does that mean the Cyclops, Jean Grey and the gang will be heading back to their own timeline?
